Building

We generally work construction from April through October. For current construction sites and projects, contact our office at 402 721-8771 or karen@fremonthabitat.org. You must be at least 16 years old to work on a Habitat construction site. A waiver signed by a parent or guardian is necessary for 16- and 17-year-olds who wish to work at the construction site. Dedications

Dedications mark the completion of each Habitat house. Partner families, volunteers and friends come together to celebrate and ask God to bless the house and the family. The highlight of each dedication is a family’s response. You are likely to hear a family’s story and a huge amount of gratitude. Bring some tissues.

Events

Trademark events held throughout the year raise funds to build Habitat houses. Listed below are some of those annual events.

Mr. Habitat Pageant

Mr. Habitat Pageant will be held April 21, 2012, at Hopkins Arena at Midland University. Five celebrity contestants will vie for the Mr. Habitat crown in a talent show, a beachwear competition and a formalwear walk down the runway. A people’s choice competition will let you vote with dollars for your favorite contestant while you enjoy dinner and beverages.

You can also also support a contestant (or several!) through online voting from this website. Your secure online donation to Habitat will be credited to the contestant of your choice.

Charity Classic

Several non-profits in the Fremont area host a multi-agency golf tournament in early August. After a full day of golf, the tourney is capped off with a sizzling steak dinner, oodles of prizes and a great band.

Spaghetti Supper

The first Thursday in November (Nov. 3 in 2011) is the annual spaghetti feed at Trinity Lutheran, at 16th and Luther Road in Fremont. Here’s a great meal for a great cause.
